Good news!
We learned over the weekend that Apple is now transcribing all our episodes so you can read while you listen, if you so choose.
If you've heard all our episodes you've heard us talk about how much we WANT to have transcripts for all our shows, but there is just sooooo much work that goes into it.
Sure there are tons of apps out there that do it, but none do it correctly. None can tell the difference between all of us and none get our words right. The Dead Files has been called a billion things other than The Dead Files (The Dead Vows is a favorite!).
So this means HOURS of listening, re-listening and correcting. This after already listening/watching each episode about five times just to edit it. I (Amy L) tried doing a few and recently spent about 3 hours on one, and it was only the first 30 minutes of the show.
Frankly, we just gave up. The ones we did publish no one read, so we decided to let YouTube do the video ones, and now Apple is doing the audio ones (only on Apple Podcasts, I'm afraid).
We can't promise they will be perfect, it's AI after all. But here's hoping it works for those of you who need or want it!
From Apple:
Simply press and hold onto a podcast episode to view its transcript. Once an episode is live, Apple swiftly creates transcripts of it. You can listen to the episode immediately, and you'll be able to read through the transcript shortly after that.
If you use it, please let us know how good it is!
